These are Economic History lecture notes, possibly a lecturer's own notes. There are 6 notebooks within a slipcase. On the slipcase is written in pencil "Dr James Cunnison? Alec Macfie?" The identification of the author of these notes is not certain. There is one letter within volume 6 addressed to Dr Cunnison, but without a comparison of handwriting it has not possible to assign these notes to Dr Cunnison. References within the notes would indicate that they were written after 1924. ...

Joseph Thomas Brown was born in Benoni, Transvaal, South Africa in c1907 . Brown began studying at the University of Glasgow , Scotland in 1929 , taking Anatomy and Physiology in his first year. In his second year he studied Surgery, Pathology and Materia Medica whilst studying Medicine in his third year. He studied Clinical Medicine, Surgery, Dermatology and Insanity in his fourth and final year. He graduated MB ChB in 1933 . He returned to the University of Glasgow from 1936-1937 to do a DPH i...
